Art Deco 14kt Yellow Gold 4-Compartment Photo Locket

A wonderful and very unusual photo locket from the Art Deco (ca1920) era! This beautiful locket has an unusual shape and design which looks to have probably been a custom made piece. Made of 14kt yellow gold, the locket has a thin rectangular box shape with a vertically lined textured surface on both sides. On the front is a rectangular plaque which would be ideal for engraving ones personal initials. The locket opens up like a book to reveal separate spaces for 4 different photographs. All of the spots have been filled with various black and white photos. The piece is hinged on the side and has a gold snap closure on the other side. At the top of the locket is a simple gold ring in the center. The piece is marked "14K" in two separate spots on the inside of the locket. A simply lovely and unusual piece, this locket would make any collection complete!

Measurements: The locket measures approximately 1 5/8" tall, 1" wide and has a depth of a little less than 1/4".

Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. There is some normal surface wear to the front and back of the locket which is not unusual. The locket closes easily and securely and the hinges are in good working condition.
