Art Deco Sterling & Matte Black Enamel Locket & Chain
A fabulous enamel locket and chain from the Art Deco (ca1920) era! This extra long enamel chain has a black enamel locket that hangs from the center. From German origin, the piece is double sided with a smooth, matte black enamel surface on both sides. The sterling chain is comprised of matching black enamel bar links connected by small sterling silver 'o' rings and it connects at a lorgnette style extension. The chain clasps at the back as well as at the end of the lorgnette extension. The clasp is stamped "STERLING GERMAN". The locket opens on the side to reveal two spaces for your favorite photographs. Although it may appear understated, the piece is simply lovely and looks fabulous on. It would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The chain measures approximately 24.75" long with a 1.75" extension. The enamel locket measures 1 1/2" long, 1 1/8" at the widest point and 1/4" in depth.
Condition: The overall condition of the locket and chain is excellent. The enameled locket is in fine condition with no apparent chips or nicks. The enameled chain is also in fine condition however there is a couple very minor nicks in the enamel which is not unusual for a piece of this age.
