Art Deco German Sterling Silver Carnelian & Onyx Ring
A wonderful German onyx and carnelian ring from the Art Deco (ca1920) era! Vertically prong set in the center of the sterling silver mounting is a rectangular carnelian stone. On either side of the carnelian is a prong set, triangular-shaped onyx stone. Each stone is hand cut and the carnelian has a faceted frame. The burnt orange color of the carnelian stone looks fabulous against the striking black of the onyx stones. The smooth sterling silver band is stamped “GERMANY” as well as “STERLING” on its underside. It is a very unusually piece and would make a fabulous addition to any collection!
Measurements: The face of the ring measures slightly less than 1" wide, 3/4" tall, and has a depth of slightly more than 1/8". The ring has a finger size 6 but it could easily be resized.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear there is no apparent damage to the sterling silver and all of the stones are intact.
