Art Deco Large 14kt & Platinum Jasper Agate & Diamond Pin
A stunning jasper agate and diamond pin from the Art Deco (ca1920) era! This gorgeous piece, which is particularly large in size, has a fantastic and very unusual design. The top of the pin is a pentagonal shaped prism made of solid jasper agate. The agate has an open center and a 14kt yellow gold backing that connects to a pin clasp. Hooked onto the bottom of the agate topper are 2 platinum bars which attach to a large movable link. The link is made of platinum and triangular in shape. With a feather-like design in the center, the platinum link is encrusted with 76 single cut diamonds. The agate has rich, vibrant color which are perfectly complimented by the diamonds. The pin is marked several times with Austrian hallmarks: "585", "AT" and a makers mark is stamped on the bar of the clasp, another touch mark is on the side of the gold backing and "AT", "950" and a makers mark is on the side of the platinum link. A very special piece, this pin would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurement: The pin measures approximately 1 3/4" at its widest, 3 3/8" tall and has a depth of 1/8".
Condition: The overall condition of the pin is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the agate or to the gold and platinum settings. The pin clasp is secure and in good working condition and all of the diamonds are intact.
