An absolutely fabulous platinum and gold charm necklace from the Art Deco (ca1920) era! This unique piece is comprised of a watch chain made of alternating platinum and 14kt rose gold links. Attached to the chain are five large pendants, all of which are platinum and rose gold.  The largest pendant, which hangs from the center of the chain, is a fob spinner. The spinner is comprised of two griffins' heads clenching slithering snakes in their mouth. The bodies' of the snakes curve down the side of the fob and curl around the hinge on both sides. The fob is double sided with a carved onyx depicting an intaglio on one side and an engraved plaque on the other. The engraved initials are written in a flowing fancy script and read "WM". A beautiful border of alternating platinum and rose gold form a checkerboard pattern around the onyx intaglio.  One of the other pendants is also a locket. It has a rose gold body and half of the face is topped with platinum. The gold part of the face has a wonderful repousse design and the platinum side is smooth. There is a single old Mine Cut diamond set within the platinum in an etched starburst design.  Two of the other pendants are similar to this locket, however they do not open.  The front of these two other pendants display a lovely platinum and rose gold checkered design with a diamond set within a starburst setting.  The fifth pendant is also a carved onyx depicting an intaglio on one side and a smooth back on the other.  Framing this square onyx stone is platinum and rose gold. At the back of the chain is a large toggle clasp, and one of the links is stamped “PLAT”. It is a beautiful collection of pendants and would be a perfect addition to any Art Deco collection!

Measurements: The entire length of the chain measures 18" long. The largest pendant has a diameter of 1 3/8" and is slightly less than 1/4" thick.  The smallest pendant measures slightly less than 7/8” tall and wide, and has a depth of less than 1/8”.

Condition: The overall condition of the chain and pendants is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum or rose gold links, or to the pendant. All of the diamonds are intact and the clasp fastens securely and is in good working condition.
