Art Deco Sterling Mississippi River Pearl Marcasite Necklace
An absolutely stunning festoon pearl necklace from the late Art Deco (1930) era! This lovely piece is made of sterling silver and detailed with 11 Mississippi River pearls. The pearls vary slightly in size and shape and hang from a flower shaped topper. In the center of each open wirework flower is single marcasite stone which connect to each other by a single sterling ring. Each pearl is prong set in sterling and has a rich luster surface. The piece comes together at a fine, ornate sterling chain and clasps at the back. On the underside of the center flower link is "STERLING". It's a wonderful, feminine piece and would make a gorgeous addition to any collection!
Measurements: The necklace measures approximately 17" in length. The pearls vary in size and measure around 1/2" tall and 1/4" wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling setting and all of the pearls and marcasites are intact. The clasp is secure and in good working condition.
