Not many people are aware that Newark, New Jersey was a major hub for the manufacture of jewelry from the late 1800's until the 1950's. One of the leading companies, the Riker Brothers, has an early history that dates back to 1846. Their pieces are quite sought after and still remain highly collectible today.

This gorgeous bangle bracelet, from the Art Nouveau (ca1900) era, is a wonderful example of the Riker Brothers talent. Known for their attention to detail, this 14kt yellow gold piece is a slip-on style bracelet which is decorated in a lovely and soft floral and swirl etched motif. The design covers the outer surface of the entire bracelet and dispersed evenly around the bracelet are five sparkling, bezel set diamonds. The stones are old Mine Cut diamonds, each measuring approximately .25ct each (1.25ct tw). The inside of the bangle is marked "14K" and bears the hallmark Riker Brothers signature "R" with a sword through it. A magnificent bracelet, it would look lovely worn by itself or with similar bracelets and would rest comfortably on a small to average size wrist.

Measurements: The wrist opening of the bracelet measures approximately 2 5/8" wide and a little less than 2 1/4" tall. The surface measures approximately 1/4" wide and has a depth of a little less than 1/4".

Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Amazingly, there are no apparent dents or dings to the gold and all of the diamonds are intact.
