Victorian TB Starr 18kt Diam Crescent Pendant/Pin 5ctw

A breathtaking signed TB Starr NY diamond crescent pin/pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This exquisite crescent moon pin/pendant adorns 19 sparkling old Mine Cut diamonds which are set in a vibrant 18kt yellow gold setting. The diamonds graduate in size and have a total weight of approximately 5ct tw, with the largest stone weighing .85ct. The sparkling, white stones are in the H-I color range and VS1-VS2 clarity range. The detail of the piece is exquisite and the fine wirework of the setting can be seen from the side of the crescent. The piece comes with interchangeable casings: one with a pin and one with a complimentary bail, which holds four additional diamonds. Each casing is stamped "TBSTARRNY", and the clasp of the pin is stamped "18K". A real beauty, this unique piece would look stunning worn as a pin or as a pendant.

Measurements: As a pendant, the crescent moon hangs 1 3/4" long, is 1 1/4" at the widest point and has a depth slightly less than 1/4". Without the bail, the pin measures 1 1/4" tall.

Condition: The overall condition of the crescent is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold or diamonds, all of which are intact. Both the pin and pendant casing are in secure working condition.
