Art Nouveau Sterling Enamel Flower Slide Mirror Pendant
A lovely and unusual mirror pendant from the Art Nouveau period (ca1900)! This fantastic piece is made of sterling silver and portrays the shape of a purple iris flower. The entire face of the piece is covered in a detailed painted design of a flower with an enameled surface. The flower has hues of purple, white, yellow and green and has a life-like appearance. The piece slides open to reveal the original round mirror and the back is smooth sterling. It hangs from a simple sterling bail. It's a wonderful and feminine piece that would look lovely worn on a long sterling chain.
Measurements: The pendant hangs approximately 1 3/4" tall, is 1 1/4" wide and 1/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the slide mirror pendant is excellent. The piece slides open easily and stays securely closed, however there is a little age to the face of the mirror. There are a few very minor surface chips in the enameling which aren't noticeable when the piece is worn and normal surface wear to the silver back.
