Arts & Crafts S/S Citrine Amethyst & Pearl Necklace
A fantastic citrine, pearl, and amethyst necklace from the Arts & Crafts (ca1900) era! At the center of the piece is a large, oval-shaped pendant that is made of sterling silver. Bezel-set in the center of the pendant is a very large, faceted citrine stone. Hand wrought, it is richly detailed with Etruscan wirework and beadwork and has a three-dimensional look. Bezel set above, below, and on both sides of the citrine stone is a vibrant, faceted amethyst stone. Lovely milgrain detailing surrounds all four stones and alternating with each amethyst stone is a raised, arc of seed pearls. At the top of the pendant is a single pearl, resting in the center of a sterling flower. The sterling flower connects the pendant to a unique sterling chain. The beautiful chain holds 5 amethyst stones and 2 citrine stones, which are bezel set in sterling silver. Alternating with the stones are ornately detailed sterling links. At the back of the chain is a sterling spring clasp. This suffragette necklace is a true statement piece and would make a fabulous addition to any collection!
Measurements: The chain of the necklace measures approximately 18" long. The pendant measures approximately 2 1/4" long, a little more than 1 5/8” wide and about 3/8” thick. The center citrine stone measures approximately 1 1/8” long and 3/4" wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace and pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear there is no apparent damage to the sterling silver, and all of the stones and pearls are intact. The clasp is secure and in good working condition.
