Cartier Edwardian Platinum & Diamond Horseshoe Pin
An absolutely exquisite Cartier Paris platinum and diamond pin from the Edwardian (ca1910) era! This wonderful and unusual piece is made of platinum and encrusted with approximately 2.5 carats of sparkling diamonds. Depicting the shape of a slightly convex large horseshoe, this stunning pin has a wavy cutout design and milgrained detail. Set within it, are old Mine Cut and old Rose Cut diamonds that sparkle magnificently. On the back of the piece is the secure pin clasp which is made of 18kt white gold. It is stamped "CARTIER PARIS" along with another stamp that I cannot read. It's a stunning piece and would make a fantastic addition to any collection!
Measurements: The pin measures a little less than 1 1/2" at the widest point, a little less than 1 1/2" tall and has a depth of 1/4".
Condition: The overall condition of the pin is excellent. Besides a very minor dent on the back, there is no apparent damage to platinum setting or to the gold clasp, which is secure and in good working condition. All of the diamonds are intact.
