An exquisite gold and platinum snake locket from the Edwardian (ca1910) era! This wonderful and unusual locket is made of 14kt gold with platinum details. On the face of the locket is a wonderfully detailed and 3-dimensional image of a slithering snake. The platinum serpent weaves through what appears to look like the holes of a button, which is represented by the round locket. The snake has a beautiful etched design and a single old Mine Cut diamond set in its head. The back of the locket has the hand engraved initials of what appears to be "CFD". The locket opens to reveal a spot for your favorite photograph and at the top of the locket is a simple gold bail. It's a stunning piece and would make a great addition to any collection!

Measurements: The locket hangs 1 3/8" long, is a little less than 1" wide and has a depth of 1/4". The bail measures 1/4" long.

Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold or platinum and the diamond is intact. The locket closes easily and securely.
