Edwardian 18kt & Platinum Opal & Diamond Crown Pendant
A fantastic diamond, sapphire and opal pendant from the Edwardian (ca1910) era! This wonderful piece portrays a 3-dimensional pendant which depicts a diamond and sapphire crown with a solid heart shaped opal hanging from it. The crown has 5 points, each represented by a single, bezel set Old European diamond. The individual stones have an approximate weight of 20pt each with a total diamond weight of 1ct tw. The rim of the crown is lined with a row of caliberated sapphire stones. The diamonds and sapphires are set in a 14kt yellow gold setting topped with platinum. Swinging from the bottom of the crown hangs a solid, heart shaped opal. The opal is vibrant in color and has hues of green, pink, blue and yellow. The pendant hangs from a small, oval shaped 14kt yellow gold bail. This lovely piece is simply a work of art and would make a great addition to any collection!
Measurements: The pendant hangs a little longer than 1 1/8" long, is 3/4" at the widest point and is a little more than 1/8" deep. The bail measures a little more than 1/8" tall by a little more than 1/16" wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. There is no apparent damage to the metal and all of the diamond and sapphire stones are intact. There is a very minor chip in the upper right corner of the opal heart that is not noticeable when worn.
