Georgian 7.50ct 15kt & Mine Diamond Cross Pendant
An absolutely incredible cross pendant from the Georgian (ca1830) era! This wonderful piece is very large in size and adorns approximately 8ct tw of diamonds. The cross in magnificently ornate and extravagant looking with a fine sterling silver topped 15kt gold setting. The main part of the cross is comprised of 12 old Mine Cut diamonds. The stones are Cushion Cuts and range in size from .40ct to .75ct each, with a total diamond weight of approximately 7.50ct tw. The Cushion Cut stones are very white and sparkly and simply marvelous. They are belcher set and accented with small old Rose Cut diamonds. An open channel surrounds the entire cross with bezel set Rose Cut details and scrolled points at the 4 ends of the cross. The incredible cross hangs from a large bail that is decorated with 5 small Rose Cut diamonds that surround a very unusual, fancy cut old Rose Cut diamond that is approximately .5ct in weight. A very special piece, this unusual and spectacular pendant would make a wonderful addition to any Georgian jewelry collection!
Measurement: The cross measures a little less than 1 5/8" at its widest, hangs approximately 3" long and has a depth of a little less than 3/8".
Condition: The overall condition of this piece is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no damage to the sterling topped gold setting and the bail is secure and in good working condition. There is no apparent damage to any of the diamonds which are all intact.
