Georgian Lapis & Rose Cut Diamond Cross Pendant
A gorgeous lapis and diamond cross pendant from the late Georgian (ca1880) era. The blue color of the lapis is brilliant and rich and is speckled with gold. This extra large pendant has a single Holland cut diamond in the center which is approximately .60ctw in size. Surrounding the large center diamond are 14 Rose cut diamonds which are all about 1 point each. The top of the cross, where it attaches to the bail, has 4 rose cut diamonds and the bail carries on this pattern and is encrusted with 5 small diamonds. Each of the diamonds is set in sterling silver and the bail is also silver. A very special piece from the Georgian era, this stunning pendant could be worn on your favorite chain and layered with other necklaces or by itself.
Measurements: The cross measures approximately 1 1/2" tall, 1 1/2" wide and is 3/16" thick. The bail measures approximately 1/2" long.
Condition: The overall condition of the piece is excellent. There are no chips in the lapis, and the diamonds are intact and bright in color.
