Late Victorian 14kt Opal & Rose Cut Diamond Ring
A simply lovely opal and diamond ring from the late Victorian (ca1900) era! This fabulous piece is made of 14kt yellow gold and has a single oval shaped cabochon opal stone set in its center. The stone is prong set and has magnificent color with hues of green, blue, red, orange and yellow. Surrounding the opal stone are 14 old Rose Cut diamonds that are belcher set in the vibrant yellow gold mounting. The band, which is made of yellow gold, graduates in width, becoming wider as it nears the face of the ring. The opal stone is absolutely magnificent and the ring looks stunning on. It would make a gorgeous addition to any collection!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size of 6.25 but could easily be resized. The oval shaped opal stone, including the diamond border, measures slightly more than 3/8” tall, 3/8” at the widest point, and has a depth of 1/8”.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or to the opal stone and all of the diamonds are intact.
