Late Art Deco 14kt Malachite & Lapis Bead Necklace
A striking bead necklace from the late Art Deco (ca1930) era! This wonderful piece is made with a 14kt yellow gold chain that displays 25 beaded links that graduate in size. Each bead is comprised of a cabochon malachite stone resting next to a cabochon lapis stone, with a layer of rock quartz crystal separating the two. The malachite stones have lovely coloring with multiple hues of green swirled throughout and each lapis stone is a deep blue with flecks of white and yellow. Alternating with each bead link are 3 small 14kt yellow gold beads and at the back of the piece is an ornate 14kt yellow gold clasp that is stamped "14K". It's a simply marvelous necklace that would be a perfect addition to any collection!
Measurements: The entire length of the necklace measures approximately 19 3/4" long. The smallest beaded link measures slightly more than 1/4" long, and 1/4" wide. The largest beaded link measures slightly more than 1/2" long and 1/2" wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold links or to the clasp, which fastens securely and is in good working condition. There are no apparent chips or scratches to any of the malachite, crystal or lapis stones.
