Late Art Deco 9kt Pearl & Large Faceted Amethyst Necklace
A fantastic and unusual amethyst necklace from the Late Art Deco (ca1930) era! This beautiful piece is comprised of a single teardrop amethyst that hangs from a 9kt yellow gold chain. The amethyst teardrop has a faceted surface with lovely coloring and attaches to an ornate gold bail. The stone hangs from a chain that is detailed with 5 amethyst and rock quartz crystal links, which alternate with 6 pearls! The necklace has an ornate clasp, which is stamped “S&P” and “9CT”. It's a fabulous piece and would make a great addition to any collection!
Measurements: The chain of the necklace measures about 17 1/2" long. The large carved citrine pendant is approximately 1 1/2" long, slightly more than 5/8” at the widest point and has a depth of slightly more than 3/8". Each amethyst link measures about 3/8” long and slightly more than 1/8” thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the necklace and pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold and all of the amethyst stones and pearls are intact. The clasp is secure and in good working condition.
