Absolutely exquisite ruby and diamond earrings from the late Victorian (ca1900) era! These gorgeous earrings are made of 14kt yellow topped in sterling silver and adorn a single, oval shaped ruby stone that rests in the center. The luscious, vibrant stone is set in a prong setting and surrounded by 10 sparkling old Mine Cut diamonds. It's not apparent to the eye, but each ruby stone has been measured and one has a weight of approximately 2.47ct., while the other has a weight of 2.69ct. The old Mine Cut diamonds are prong set in sterling and frame each ruby beautifully. They have an overall total weight of approximately 4.30ct tw. Each earring hangs from a modern 14kt yellow gold clasped kidney earring wire, which adorns a single old mine cut diamond surmount. The gold wires from which the earrings hang are stamped with a hallmark of a flower as well as "14K". The earrings were appraised by an independent and accredited Gemologist in October 2010 and have a stated retail replacement value of $9,500.00. The earrings are absolutely stunning and would be a perfect addition to any collection!

Measurements: Each earring hangs 1 1/4" long, is 1/2" at the widest point and has a depth of a little more than 1/8".

Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold and sterling setting or wires and all of the diamonds and rubies are intact.
