Victorian 14kt & Bloodstone Family Crest Intaglio Ring

Product SKU

The opposite of a cameo, an intaglio is created by carving below the surface to produce an image in relief with the purpose of pressing into sealing wax.

A stunning intaglio ring from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This signet ring has an oval shaped bloodstone agate stone with an intaglio carved into the center. The carved image appears to be a family crest of coat of arms which is bezel set in an 14kt yellow gold mounting. On each side of the intaglio stone is an ornate floral design on the shoulder of the gold band. The bloodstone is a very dark green color with specks of red throughout. On the inside of the ring are 2 markings, "585", and "WB". This fabulous ring would make a beautiful addition to any collection!

Measurements: The intaglio measures a little less than 1/2" wide and a little less than 5/8" tall. The ring has a finger size of a generous size 8.5 but could easily be resized.

Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. There is no apparent damage to the gold mounting and only minor surface wear to the bloodstone intaglio.
