Victorian 14kt Onyx Seed Pearl & Enamel Earrings
Absolutely gorgeous onyx and seed pearl earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) era! These stunning earrings are comprised of a hand carved onyx vessel which hangs from a 14kt rosy yellow gold topper. Riveted into the onyx vessels are 14kt gold accents that are detailed with 12 natural seed pearls that have a wonderful iridescent color. The surmount has shield-like shape, a textured surface and is inlaid with black enamel. A single pearl is set in the top and a clasped earring wire attaches to the back. The earrings have a beautiful 3-dimensional design and look gorgeous on. They would make a perfect addition to any collection!
Measurement: The earrings hang 1 1/2" long, are a little less than 5/8" at the widest point and have a depth of a little less than 5/8".
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no serious damage to the onyx or to the gold setting or earring wires and all of the pearls are intact. There is a naturally occurring fracture within one of the onyx vessels which is not noticeable when the earrings are worn.
