Victorian 14kt Gold Turquoise Snake Cufflinks
A fantastic pair of snake cufflinks from the Victorian (ca1800) period! Each cufflink has an oval-shaped, cabochon turquoise stone bezel set in a 14kt yellow gold mounting. Each stone is bright in color, with flecks of brown at its center. Coiled around the turquoise is a textured, gold snake. The snake is highly detailed and wraps around the entire stone, with its tail and head overlapping. Both cufflinks have a smooth, gold oval back and a connecting curved bar. The backs are stamped "14K" along with a makers mark. These wonderful and unusual cufflinks would make a perfect addition to any collection!
Measurements: The face of each cufflink measures a little less than 1" tall, is slightly less than 1/2" at its widest point and is approximately 1/4" thick. The gold back is 1/2" long and 3/8” wide and the connecting bar measures 5/8".
Condition: The overall condition of the cufflinks is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or to the turquoise stones.
