Victorian 14kt Mississippi River Pearl & Diamond Flower Pin
A fantastic and unusual Mississippi River pearl pin from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This wonderful piece portrays a single stemmed flower and 3 leaves which is made of 4 natural Mississippi River pearls. The pearls are very large in size and have a long oblong shape. They rest at the end of a stem which is made of 14kt yellow gold and has a vibrant green enameled surface. At the very end of the bottom of the stem is a single old Rose Cut diamond which is bezel set in a sterling topped setting. Sprouting out of the center of the flower are 6 sterling silver bars that have bezel set old Rose Cut diamonds set in the tip of each. The natural Mississippi River pearls have a wonderful and rich iridescent color which looks fantastic with the green enamel stem and diamonds. On the back of the piece rests a secure pin clasp. This wonderful pin would make a lovely addition to any collection!
Measurements: The flower pin measure a little more than 1" tall, 1 7/8" at the widest point and 1/2" in depth.
Condition: The overall condition of the pin is excellent. There is no apparent damage to any of the pearls or enameling and all of the diamonds are intact. The pin clasp is secure and in good working condition.
