Victorian 14kt & Onyx Locket w/ Mine Cut Diamond

Product SKU
27074

A magnificent 14kt gold and onyx locket/pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This gorgeous piece is made of solid onyx and is carved into the shape of a shield or family crest. In the center of the front of the piece is a single old Mine Cut diamond in a bezel setting (with a weight of 70ptw). The onyx shield has an opening on the back with a gold frame that looks to have originally had a piece of glass, however there is no glass in it now. This could easily be replaced. A 14kt gold clasp is attached to a gold jump ring at the top of the locket which makes it easy to attach to a complimentary chain. It's a magnificent and unusual piece from the Victorian era and would make a great addition to any collection!

Measurements: The locket measures approximately 1 7/8" tall, 1 3/8" wide and a little less than 3/8" thick. The gold clasp attached to the top has an interior diameter of 1/4".

Condition: The overall condition is excellent. Amazingly, there are no apparent chips in the onyx and the single diamond is intact. The gold frame on the back of the locket closes easily and securely.
