Victorian 14kt Seed Pearl & Ruby Swallow Bird Pin/Pendant
A gorgeous seed pearl pin/pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Made of 14kt yellow gold, this wonderful pave (French for pavement) set seed pearl and ruby piece portrays the shape of a diving swallow bird. The bird displays 2 outstretched wings, along with 2 tail feathers, and a single ruby stone in place of an eye. The natural seed pearls have a wonderful and rich iridescent color and look fantastic against the vibrant color of the ruby. On the back of the piece is a pin clasp, which is stamped “14K”. A gold loop can also be found under the bird’s head, which is perfect to hang from a Victorian chain! It's a fabulous and fun piece for any collector!
Measurements: The bird measures 1 3/8” wide, 7/8" tall, and has a depth of 1/8”.
Condition: The overall condition of the pin is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting. The ruby and all of the pearls are intact, and the pin clasp is secure and in good working condition.
