Victorian 14kt Yellow Gold Locket w/ Seed Pearls
A beautiful locket from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This lovely 14kt yellow gold oval shaped locket portrays a 3-dimensional diamond shaped design in the center with natural seed pearls set within it. The pearls are bead set and rest on a flat arc that lies in the center of the diamond. Scrolled wirework details the top and bottom of the raised diamond and the design is surrounded by a thin gold frame border. The inside opens to reveal a place for your favorite photograph with a glass cover. A natural patina surrounds the outside of the face of the locket which adds richness to the color of the gold. It is a stunning locket and a fine example of the Victorian period.
Measurements: The locket measures approximately 1 5/8" tall, 1 1/8" at the widest point and 1/2" thick. The bail has an opening that measures about 1/4" long.
Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. Besides normal surface wear and a small ding on the back, there is no apparent damage to the gold and all of the pearls are intact. The locket closes securely and easily.
