A gorgeous enamel locket from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This beautiful locket is made of luscious 15kt yellow gold and is oval in shape. The surface of this English piece has a high carat bloom finish on both the front and back, which was a popular style in the Victorian period. The front is adorned with a beautiful enameled picture of a winged cherub that is holding pearl detailed shakers above his head. An enamel ribbon flows above the cherub and 10 old Rose Cut diamonds rest within the image. The winged boy has hand painted features and red clothing and two rubies are set in the center of etched hearts that rest at his feet. The unusual design is beautiful and full of life. The fluted bail has 3 old Rose Cut diamonds and rests at the top of the locket. The piece opens to reveal two places (one glass covered) for your favorite photo. This beautiful locket would make a wonderful addition to any collection!

Measurements: The locket hangs approximately 2 3/8" long, is 1 3/8" wide and is 3/8" thick.

Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. Besides normal surface wear to the gold, there is no serious damage to the locket. All of the pearls and stones are intact and the locket closes easily and securely. There are some minor surface scratches and a couple small dings on the back which is not unusual for a piece from this time period.
