Victorian 15kt Diamond & Foil Back Amethyst Trefoil Pendant
A stunning amethyst and diamond pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This unusual piece depicts a trefoil (3-leaf clover) shape which hangs upside down and is comprised of foil back cabochon amethyst. The amethysts, which have vibrant, luscious color, are bezel set in the 15kt yellow gold setting. Old Mine Cut diamonds accent the amethyst clover, resting in the center and on the sides and set at the top, acting as the stem. The overall diamond weight of the piece is approximately .55ct tw with the center stone be the largest at .20ct. The pendant hangs from a gold bail that has a smaller, foil back amethyst topper and a small, silver topped diamond encrusted link dangles from the bottom. The piece has a gorgeous design and would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The pendant hangs approximately 2" tall, a little more than 1" at the widest point and has a depth of 1/4". The bail measures approximately 3/8" long.
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the foil back amethyst stones or gold setting and all of the diamonds are intact.
