Victorian 15kt Huge Enamel & Diamond Pendant 6ctw
An exquisite diamond pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This extremely large 15kt yellow gold pendant is simply stunning and very unusual. The piece, which has a rounded, medal-like shape, is decorated with a gorgeous textured surface and black enamel tracery throughout. It is richly detailed and has a three-dimensional look. Within the center of the piece, are 20 old Mine Cut diamonds with a total weight of approximately 6ct tw. The diamonds are prong set and very white and sparkly. The design weaves within the center of the piece and black enamel tracery is present on almost the entire surface of the ornate gold. A complementary enameled bail hangs from the top of the piece and is large in size and perfect to fit on a thick Victorian chain. This outstanding piece would look stunning worn on a heavy Victorian watch chain and would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The pendant hangs approximately 2 3/4" long, is 1 1/2" at the widest point and 5/8" thick. The interior of the bail measures 5/8" long.
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. There is no apparent damage to the gold and all of the diamonds are intact. There is a small amount of damage to some of the enamel tracery which is not unusual for a Victorian piece.
