Victorian 15kt Large Yellow Gold Earrings

Fantastic gold earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Each earring, which is fairly large in size, is made of vibrant 15kt yellow gold and is beautifully decorated with delicate wirework and beadwork. The earrings, which have a ring shape with a swinging ball center, hang from an upside down teardrop surmount which is attached to gold wires. Surrounding the outside of the gold ring is a border of gold beads and the center opening is lined with gold spikes, which just barely touch the swinging ball. At the four corners of the ring is a matching design of raised gold beadwork and twisted wire. Very light and comfortable to wear, these marvelous earrings would be great worn day or night.

Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 2" long, is 1" at the widest point and is a little less than 1/2" in depth.

Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no serious damage to the gold, wirework/beadwork detail or to the earring wires. There are two small dents in the gold surmount of one of the earrings and a very small ding on the outside of one of the gold rings; neither are noticeable when worn. There is also some discoloration on the front of one of the swinging center gold balls which is again hardly noticeable when worn.
