Victorian 18kt Ruby & Diamond Double Snake Ring
The snake has been a powerful image since the Victorian era and continues to be popular even in modern jewelry. It has been an inspiration for jewelry design for ages, often used to symbolize eternity, everlasting love, life and protection.
This fabulous diamond and ruby snake ring is from the Victorian (ca1880) era and is simply marvelous! Intertwined and twisted around each other, the 2 snakes are made of 18kt yellow gold and have a single Mine Cut diamond and ruby set in each of their heads. The snake bodies act as the ring's band and the tails wrap around your finger adding to the beauty and detail of the ring. The inside of the ring has the English hallmarks of a crown, a face, the letter "O" and "18". The stamp can be found on the inside shank of each of the snakes. This fabulous ring would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size of a small size 6.75 but could easily be resized if desired. The width of the ring graduates in size from a little less than 1/4" to 1/2" wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold and all of the stones are intact.
