Victorian English 9kt Gold & Sterling 5 Medallion Necklace
An absolutely fabulous English gold medallion necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This unique piece is comprised of a 9kt rose gold chain made of small interlocked rings. Attached to the chain is a compilation of 5 medallions, 4 of which are made of 9kt rose and yellow gold. The 5th pendant is made of sterling silver with a gold plated face and a 9kt rose gold center. The largest medal, which hangs from the center of the chain, has a scrolled motif and the other 4 medallions are slightly smaller and hang from each side of the center pendant. The back of each medallion is stamped with multiple English hallmarks along with its type of metal. The clasp of the chain is stamped “9c”. The compilation of medallions makes this necklace very unique and looks striking on! It is a beautiful piece and would make a perfect addition to any Victorian collection!
Measurements: The entire length of the chain measures slightly less than 18" long. The largest medallion measures 1 1/4" tall, 1 1/8” wide, and less than 1/8” thick. The smallest medal has a diameter of 1” and has a depth of less than 1/8”.
Condition: The overall condition of the chain and pendants is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no serious damage to the sterling or gold. The clasp fastens securely and is in good working condition.
