Victorian French Paste & Art Glass Man in the Moon Pin
A fantastic and unusual French paste and Art Glass pin from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This stunning pin has a round shaped center which portrays a "Man in the Moon" face. The face is hand carved and made of "Art Glass" which has a fantastic iridescent look with wonderful and colorful hues. The carved glass is convex with a 3-dimensional appearance and is bezel set in brass setting. Surrounding the Man in the Moon face is a border of closed back French paste stones. On the back of the pin is a c-catch pin clasp. This fabulous and unusual pin would make a beautiful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The overall size of the pin measures a little more than 1" wide and tall and has a depth of 1/4". The glass moon face has a diameter of 3/4".
Condition: The overall condition of the pin is excellent. There is very minor wear in the surface of the glass moon face and a slight crack above one of the eyes which is not noticeable when worn. There is no apparent damage to the setting and all of the paste stones are intact.
