Victorian Sterling Lucky Charm
An unusual and lovely French bracelet from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This stunning bangle is made of sterling silver and displays the phrase “PORTE BONHEUR” across its front. Translated in English to “Lucky Charm”, the letters are raised from the rest of the bracelet, which is smooth silver. This fun piece is hinged and has a push clasp on the side. Attached by 2 small, silver rings is a safety chain for added security. Light in weight, it would rest nicely on an average sized wrist. This fabulous piece would make any collection complete and would most definitely bring luck to the owner!
Measurements: The top surface of the bracelet measures 1/4" wide and 1/8” thick. The inside opening (where your wrist would rest) measures slightly more than 2 1/4" wide and just less than 2" tall.
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is good. There are a few dings to the silver on the bottom and top of the bracelet and some normal surface wear; this is not noticeable when worn. The clasp is secure and the hinge is in good working condition.
