Victorian Large 14kt Filigree Wirework & Amethyst Earrings
Fantastic amethyst earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) era! These stunning earrings, which are particularly large in size, are made of 14kt yellow gold and amethyst stones. Each earring has a single oval shaped and faceted stone in the center which is surrounded by an absolutely gorgeous filigree wirework frame. The wirework is very ornate and intricate with fine milgraining and beadwork. The amethyst stones have rich purple color and are bezel set slightly higher above the earring. The earrings hang from modern 14kt gold wires. They are simply lovely and would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurement: The earrings hang approximately 2 3/8" long, are 1" at the widest point and have a depth of a little more than 3/8".
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. There is no apparent damage to the amethyst stones or to the gold setting or fine wirework. There is a natural patina on the surface of the gold which adds to the richness of the earrings.
