Victorian Large 15kt & Onyx Cross Pendant w/ Diamond
A gorgeous onyx and diamond cross pendant from the late Victorian (ca1880) era! This extra large pendant has a single old Holland Cut diamond stone in the center which is approximately .35ctw in size. The diamond is prong set in the center of the cross in 15kt yellow gold. The setting sits in a shallow carved bowl which is riveted through the onyx stone where it appears on the back. At the top of the cross is a large gold hook bail that is covered in black enamel. A very special piece from the Victorian era, this wonderful cross would make a great addition to any collection!
Measurements: The cross measures approximately 3 1/8" tall, a little more than 2" wide and is a little more than 1/4" thick. The bail measures approximately 5/8" long.
Condition: The overall condition of the cross pendant is excellent. There are a few very minor chips along the edge of the onyx cross however they are not noticeable when the piece is worn. There is no apparent damage to the enameled bail, gold or to the diamond.
