Victorian Large Heart 15kt Pave Persian Turquoise Pendant
An absolutely stunning Persian turquoise pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This wonderful piece is exceptionally large in size and made of 15kt gold with pave (French for pavement) set turquoise on both sides. The pendant is in the shape of a large puffy heart and has a convex front and back. Cabochon Persian turquoise pieces vary in size and color and cover the entire surface of the pendant which hangs from a complimentary turquoise embellished bail. A popular style in the nineteenth century, each turquoise stone is hand and bead set. This wonderful pendant is truly exceptional with its extremely large size and pave surface covering the front and back. It is a must have for the turquoise lover!
Measurements: The heart pendant and bail hang approximately 2 1/4" long, a little less than 1 7/8" at the widest point and 5/8" in depth.
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant locket is excellent. All of the turquoise stones are intact and besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting.
