Victorian Large Hand Carved Ivory Locket
A magnificent and unusual ivory locket from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This gorgeous piece is made of hand carved ivory and is oval in shape. The piece has a smooth face on both sides with a beveled frame and a matching fluted bail rests at the top with a simple carved design in it. The locket opens to reveal a black and white photograph of a gentleman. It's a magnificent and unusual piece from the Victorian era and would make a great addition to any collection!
Measurements: The locket hangs approximately 2 3/8" tall, 1 1/2" wide and is 1/2" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the ivory locket is excellent. Amazingly, there are no apparent chips in the ivory and the locket closes easily and securely. Due to the age, the locket does gap slightly in the opening.
