A simply wonderful amber, amethyst and garnet bug pin from the late Victorian (ca1900) era! The piece, which depicts a large, full bodied bug, has a body made of amber and amethyst stones which are set in sterling silver. Ornate, curled antennae sprout out of the top of the head along with a single garnet stone. It has 6 sterling bent legs that peek out from the underside of the bug. All of the stones are foil backed and cabochon cut. The pin has a wonderful 3-dimensional look with lovely detail throughout. On the back is the original c-catch pin clasp. It's a lovely piece and would make a great addition to any collection!

Measurements: The pin measures approximately 1 3/8" wide, 1 7/8" tall and a little more than 1/2" in depth.

Condition: The overall condition of the pin is excellent. There is no apparent damage to the sterling silver setting or details and the pin clasp is secure and in good working condition. Besides some normal surface wear, all of the stones are intact and in excellent condition.
