Victorian Sterling Pave Set Turquoise Heart Locket/Pendant

A gorgeous pendant locket from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This wonderful pave (French for pavement) set turquoise and sterling silver pendant is heart shaped and slightly convex. Cabochon turquoise pieces vary in size and color and cover the entire surface of the front of the heart which hangs from a matching bail. A popular style in the nineteenth century, each turquoise stone is hand and bead set. On the back of the piece is an open back locket that has a fairly deep compartment and a flip-top glass cover. This wonderful pendant is a must have for the turquoise lover!

Measurements: The heart shaped pendant and bail hang approximately 1 3/4" long, 1 1/4" at the widest point and a little more than 1/2" in depth.

Condition: The overall condition of the pendant locket is excellent. All of the turquoise stones are intact and there is no apparent damage to the sterling setting besides very minor surface wear on the back. The locket back opens easily and stays securely closed.
