Victorian Large Sterling Repousse Heart Box w/Crown
An absolutely fabulous sterling piece from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This sterling silver repousse heart-shaped box pendant has beautiful detail and is exceptionally large in size. Most likely used as a stamp box, the front and back surface of this wonderful piece is decorated in a feminine and floral design. At the top of the puffy heart rests a royal looking crown that carries a complimentary repousse design. The heart flips open to reveal a small compartment and is hinged on the back. The heart hangs from a small "O" ring which is attached in the center of the crown. On the inside lip of the box are the markings "F&B" and "STERLING". This lovely piece would look stunning worn as a pendant on a long sterling chain and would make a perfect addition to any collection!
Measurements: The heart pendant hangs approximately 2 3/8" long, is 1 5/8" wide and measures 5/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the heart-shaped box is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling heart. The top flips open easily and stays securely closed and the hinge is in good working condition.
