Victorian Sterling Silver Chain & Locket
A fabulous sterling chain and locket from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This sterling silver chain is handmade and has barrel shaped links. The sterling locket displays an intricate wirework design, which frames a raised, smooth oval center. Bordering the entire face of the locket is a very fine twisted silver wirework frame. The locket opens to reveal 2 places for your favorite photograph. It hangs from a complimentary sterling fluted bail, which connects to a spring ring at the center of the beautiful Victorian chain. It is a wonderful example of Victorian artistry and would make a great addition to any collection!
Measurements: The sterling chain measures approximately 17" long, and 1/4” wide and deep. The locket hangs approximately 2 1/2" long, is 1 3/8" wide and slightly more than 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the chain and locket is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the chain and the attached spring ring is secure and in good working condition. There is some normal wear on the surface of the silver, which is not uncommon for a Victorian piece.
