A fabulous sterling silver locket from the Victorian (ca1880) era! The gorgeous oval shaped locket is made of sterling silver and ornately detailed with a fantastic etched floral and bird design. In the center of the piece is a swooping bird with the sun in the background and engraved stems and leaves below it. Surrounding this center is a thick border of sterling cutouts with sterling beads resting in the middle. Complimenting this design is a border of even spaced beads on all sides of the locket. The locket opens to reveal two spaces for your favorite photographs. The back of the piece is made of smooth sterling, and the entire piece hangs from a sterling bail. The locket is a truly beautiful example of Victorian artistry. It would make a great addition to any collection!

Measurements: The locket hangs approximately 2" long, is slightly less than 1 1/4" wide, and slightly less than 1/4" at the thickest point.

Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no serious damage to the silver or to the ornate design. The locket closes easily and stays securely closed.
