Victorian Sterling Silver & Hand Painted Porcelain Pin
A lovely painted porcelain pin from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This very large piece is made of a single round plaque of porcelain which has the wonderful painted image of a Victorian woman with her horse. The picture is hand painted and covered in a clear enamel surface. It's set in an ornate sterling frame which is detailed with small marcasite stones. The color and detail of the painting is simply marvelous. There is a hand painted signature on the side of the picture which I cannot read; please see photographs. On the back of the piece is a secure pin clasp. It's a wonderful piece and would make a lovely addition to any collection!
Measurements: The pin measures a little more than 1 5/8" tall at the tallest point, 2" at the widest point and 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the pin is excellent. There is no apparent damage to the painted porcelain plaque or to the sterling silver setting and the clasp is secure and in good working condition.
