Victorian Large Sterling Silver Overlay Glass Perfume Bottle
An absolutely beautiful silver and glass perfume bottle from the Victorian era (ca1880)! The bottle, which is round in shape, is made of hand blown glass encased in a wonderful sterling silver overlay design. The surface of the silver has a hand-etched design throughout and an initialed plaque on the front. The top of the bottle is sterling silver and there is a flip top lid that screws securely closed. The side of the silver topper is stamped "STERLING" and there are several markings on the bottom of the bottle: "103" and "D2099", along with 3 English hallmarks including an anchor. The sterling design is absolutely gorgeous and the glass bottle is in perfect condition. It's a fabulous piece and would make a perfect addition to any collection!
Measurements: The bottle measures approximately 3 1/4" tall, 2 5/8" wide and 7/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the perfume bottle is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling overlay or to the glass bottle and the flip top lid is secure and in good working condition.
