A lovely Scottish agate locket from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This beautiful piece, which is made of sterling silver, depicts a exceptionally large padlock. The face of the locket has a gorgeous agate stone, which has a shield-like shape. The stone is bezel set in the sterling mounting and has beautiful swirls of burnt orange, forest green, pearly white, and earthy brown. The back of the padlock has an exposed locket which is portrayed by an oval shaped piece of glass, which lifts to reveal a spot for a favorite photograph. The sides and face of the sterling padlock locket are etched with a scrolled design, adding a touch of softness to the piece. The locket hangs from the large clasped padlock, which makes it easy to wear attached to a chain or bracelet. It’s a gorgeous piece and would make a perfect addition to any collection!

Measurements: The locket hangs approximately 1 5/8" long, is 1" at its widest point, and is 1/4" thick.

Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver setting or to the Scottish agate stone face. The glass face of the locket opens easily and closes securely and the clasp is secure and in excellent working condition.
