Art Deco Platinum & Diamond Engagement Ring 1.14ct
A stunning diamond engagement ring from the Art Deco (ca1920) era! This beautiful piece is made of platinum and holds a magnificent old European Cut diamond at the center of a beautifully ornate mounting. The diamond, which is held in a claw prong setting, has a total approximate weight of 1.14ctw with J color and VS2 clarity. Resting on the shoulders of the mounting are an additional eight Single Cut diamonds, which line the sides of the ring in a glittering row. The smaller diamonds have H-I range color, VS range clarity and a total weight of 0.08ctw. The sides of the mounting display a lovely filigree wirework design, and delicate milgrained and hand-engraved detail complete the beautiful Deco design. The inside of the band is marked "MH". The ring was appraised in July 2014 by an independent and accredited GIA certified Gemologist, and has a stated retail replacement value of $11,000.00. It's a classic and feminine design that looks gorgeous when worn, and it would make a gorgeous engagement ring!
Measurements: The ring is a finger size 5.25 but it could easily be re-sized.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum setting or to the diamonds, all of which are intact.
