A fantastic Art Deco (ca1920) era diamond engagement ring from J.E. Caldwell & Co.! This beautiful piece has an old European Cut diamond at the center of a stunning ornate wirework platinum mounting. The diamond has a scalloped bezel setting and an approximate weight of 1.24ct. The stone has H color and VS1 clarity. Also set within the stunning mounting are an additional 56 Single Cut diamonds which cover the sides and shoulders of the ring. The diamonds have a total approximate weight of 0.35ctw, color in the H-J range, and clarity in the VS-SI1 range. The mounting is simply wonderful with fine wirework, cutouts, and a beautiful flowing design that carries down the shoulders of the band. The shank has several marks: "JEC & Co.", "K725", and the hand engraved date "5-9-25". The ring was appraised by an independent and accredited Gemologist in November 2013 and has a stated retail replacement value of $17,000.00. It would make an absolutely stunning engagement ring!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size 6 but could easily be resized. When worn, the ring sits about 1/4" atop your finger.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum and all of the stones are intact.
