Vintage Chinese Silver & Turquoise Cluster Ring
A wonderful Vintage turquoise cluster ring from the 1950s! This fabulous ring is fairly large in size and is made of silver. The decorative design reflects its Chinese origin and features a large turquoise stone surrounded by 8 smaller stones, together forming a large cluster. All of the turquoise cabochons are bezel set and polished smooth, displaying stunning natural green and blue colors. Surrounding the turquoise is delicate silver beadwork set within the mounting, and fantastic swirled wirework can be seen from all sides. The back of the mounting and shoulders of the ring are formed by a woven mesh-like setting that resembles chainmaille, and a single flower at each shoulder adds a feminine touch. The back of the band overlaps to make it slightly adjustable, and the inside is stamped "SILVER." This wonderful piece has a fantastic, artistic look would make a beautiful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The cluster measures slightly more than 1 1/4" tall, is 1 1/8" wide with a depth of 1/2". The ring has a finger size 6.75 but it could easily be resized.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the silver setting and all of the turquoise stones are intact. The ring may have been gilded at one point, and one side of the piece appears to have a clear resin-like coating, however it does not distract from the beauty of this artistic ring.
