Late Art Deco 18kt Coiled Snake Bangle Bracelet
The snake has been a powerful image since the Victorian era and continues to be popular even in modern jewelry. It has been an inspiration for jewelry design for ages, often used to symbolize eternity, everlasting love, life and protection.
This fabulous gold snake bracelet is from the late Art Deco (ca1930) era and simply marvelous! Made of 18kt yellow gold, this beautiful piece has an ornate hand etched body that coils around your wrist, looping in the front. The etched design represents the snakes scaled skin and the wonderful face. The head of the snake is wonderfully charming with an opened mouth and two old Mine Cut diamonds representing its eyes. The bangle bracelet easily slides on and would fit perfectly on an average sized wrist. An unusual piece, the bracelet looks stunning on and would make a perfect addition to any collection!
Measurements: The opening, where a wrist would rest, measures approximately 2 1/2" wide and slightly less than 2 1/4" tall. The width of the bracelet ranges from 1/8" on the underside to 3/4" where the head of the snake is.
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold and both diamonds are intact.
